THE NATIONAL SANDBOX

Experimenting Together in a Shared Test Environment

We’re excited to launch the National Sandbox for digital wallets. It’s designed to make it easier for organizations to connect, experiment, and adopt innovative solutions for secure data sharing.

What is the National Sandbox?

The National Sandbox is a collaborative test environment dedicated to digital wallet technology. Our aim is to bring together companies, public sector bodies, and private organizations that can benefit from digital wallets, enabling them to co-create services that deliver real value. Think of it as a meeting point for ideas, expertise, and collaboration — a place to experiment and discover the best solutions.

Why does it matter?

The National Sandbox goes beyond technology — it’s about collaboration, innovation, and impact:

Digital wallets make data sharing easier and case processing smarter

Soon, communication between public and private organizations will take place via digital wallets. You will be able to request, send, and share trustworthy documents. This will be more efficient, secure, and beneficial for everyone.

Getting Started in 3 Simple Steps

Joining the National Sandbox is quick and straightforward.

1

Review Your Data

Begin by mapping the data you hold and use. Could some of it be shared with others or prove valuable to partners? What data would be most useful for you to receive? Consider how secure and simplified digital data sharing could streamline workflows for both you and your partners.

This is something we can help you with through a feasibility study
2

Register in the Sandbox

Sign up with Digdir to become part of the ecosystem. Use the insight service to see who else is sharing or requesting data. Registration also provides you with the technical certificates needed for development and integration.

Contact us if you need assistance with the process.
3

Offer and receive data

If you want to issue and share data, you’ll need an issuing service capable of publishing and distributing digital proofs from your data sources to digital wallets.

To receive and verify digital proofs, it requires a service that can read and validate them.

Kantega has specialized tools for issuance and verifying credentials as well as experience developing tools like this from scratch. Contact us for more information,
